Hi All,
For a long time now I've been mulling over having my Tuscan resprayed a different colour.
At the moment its in Bentley Sapphire Blue with Blue Covert lid and gray leather and dark grey carpet.

I'm planning on having the interior refreshed this year with new carpet and the drivers seat leather needs attention.
The roof covering is quite marked and weathered and so thats also in my sights.
If I go to another body colour then I can change the carpet and roof colours too.
I don't want to change all of the interior leathers so the gray is going to dictate the new body colour to some degree.

For staying with blue, I really like Lazer Blue.
If I change, I like Spectraflair Silver.
This last couple of weeks, Formula Red is in my mind.

One of the main issues is that the Sapphire Blue shows all of the swirly spider marks and drives me mad.
My previous Tuscan was in Paradise Purple and you could never see any marks on it.
Thats my target with this colour change. Will Formula Red work out OK ?

With Lazer Blue I dont think I have a problem with the interior colour but I would be grateful for opinions on the Red or Spectraflair Silver against the interior?

Thanks,
Tony

I would second spectraflair silver too,in the sun it has a fantastic effect and does not show up stone chips etc as much as perhaps the darker colours do.

Another vote for Spectraflair Silver, It would also go well with the roof & interior coulors.

One colour that would look fantastic on a Tuscan is the flame red being used by Renault on the new clios, it's a stunning colour and would suit the Tuscans curves beautifully.

A RED colour really does suit the Tuscan curves.Formula Red Pearl even looks shiny and clean all of the time.

With the grey leather then the Laser Blue would be my choice, however some others to consider:

Spectra flair Grey. Not seen another Tuscan in this, and a decent dark grey works well on the Tuscan

BMW Sakhir orange: It's actually a very deep red with a slight orange pearl in sunlight. Looks quite similar to the Clio above but in the flesh it really does stand out against a normal metallic.

Thanks for the feedback, been on an off line boozy weekend smile
Actually, forgot to mention orange as a colour.

I think I will need to see Spectraflair Grey in the flesh to understand how good it is.
I think Spectra Silver is at the top as far as going with the interior and I need to get the roof redone anyway but think staying with blue would be better with this choice.
Maybe introducing some shade of blue carpet would also complement.

Cheers,
Tony.

Laser blue, then you don't have a colour change car on the V5?

I would never do a colour change for this reason.

What's the problem with changing the colour on the V5? I had no issue when I had my change of colour repsray. It now states blue/green. Simples!

Surely red will show swirls as bad as almost any other colour? Spectraflair silver is very forgiving in that respect.

What about Spectraflair Blue as a best of both worlds?

Mine is Spectraflair Lite, over a Ferrari Avio Met basecoat. If I could have afforded the proper version of Spectraflair Blue/Topaz then I would have gone for it.
Plenty of shots of mine here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dh-photographic/sets...

I really really like Spectraflair Silver, in direct sunlight, then it's stunning as the Spectraflair can be more impactful than on other basecoats, but my only gripe is that unless the sun is out then it can look a bit flat. With a different base colour then it'll look 95% as strong in direct sunlight, but will also turn heads the rest of the time.

Found another pic of the spectraflair grey:

Oh, and another one to throw in the mix. Reading the page says it's Azzurro California, but I had a sample sprayed and it looked very different so I didn't take the risk. Almost wish I had now!

Some more of this colour here: http://www.autogespot.ca/index.php/en/ferrari-458-...

Make it gun metal grey. No flakes no varnish. Keep the leather in the original colour (repaint them).

Colours are very personal so I won't offer anything there but I would suggest that having gone to the expense of a respray you get the paintwork detailed and protected with one of the quartz coatings which will help prevent the swirl marks that are induced when washing.
Simple things like a good quality lambswool mitt and grit guards will also keep the swirls to a minimum. Go for the colour you really like, protect it and be careful when washing and you will enjoy it a lot more.

It will show on HPI with a red marker stating the colour change. Some wouldn't be perturbed, I personally wouldn't do it.

Hi S6, it’s a generalism, but buyers want originality and so a colour change hurts value. Keeping it a shade of blue, means you don’t have to inform the DVLA.

Aah, the purists! It wouldn't worry me but maybe it would some. I would always buy on condition. A respray would be a positive to me!
