Thanks all.

I'll have loads of questions to ask- like if the front wheel spacers I have seen are necessary, if I can actually have some form of suspension on the car (it has new GAZ shocks which must just be solid bars by the feel of it!), tweeking door hinges etc.

Down side is that I'm away to Amsterdam this weekend so can't play!!

Welcome aboard, you will enjoy. If its the one in London, I thought from the presumed ad when you first posted it did look quite dark for Titanium Grey. The "official" TVR colour most specified was the Ferrari Titanio Grigio, which mine definitely is. Was the photo deceptive ? (see mine in my profile on a very sunny day).

You'll probably have a few niggles, particularly at this time of year after a period stood still, picked mine up in Decemeber last year. Funnily enough one of my cans failed after a month. Try to drive it in the dry (not easy at the moment) and shake down the initial issues. Mine's been fine since the summer (kept outside but under a decent cover) and just got through its 12k and MOT without any problems.

Hi, it is dark metallic grey, I haven't actually looked for the official colour!

The dealer I bought it from have so far been very good, already finding a replacement can for me and a pair of tyres which are damaged.

The more I look the more minor defects it has, but I was expecting it! The trim around the top inside windscreen has come unstuck for a few inches, I'll have to try and evo-stick it back I think, the pod on top of the speedo has come loose so again got to find out how to fix it back the the speedo.

Picking it up in central London (inside the congestion zone) at 3pm was possibly the worst thing I could have ever done, aching feet from the heavy pedals of 3 hours crawling home! I think 2 hours of sitting almost still in traffic was a good test, I'm already getting the wheels re-balanced as miles out which wouldn't have helped the shaking on the way home. Whilst off I'll pop the recommended 3mm spacers on the fronts, and also check the battery and clean/grease the terminals and fit the new anderson connector (supplied!).

Really looking forward to tinkering and driving this!

Oh also I noticed the GAZ shocks are adjustable so I will definitely be softening them up a little so my teeth survive the next outing smile

I would definitely roll the dampers off to the softest setting, I have the same on my Nitrons. Just chatting with my TVR specialist after picking it up from service and the general consensus was softest is best unless you're on a track. Good to hear the supplying dealer is behaving themself.

I don't want to hi-jack the thread but is there much difference between Gaz and Nitrons? Can either be adjusted for rebound as well as compression?

The Gaz I have fitted have only one adjuster knob so not two way adjustable. I'll wind them down and go from there!

Is there a cheaper place to buy the 3mm wheel spacers from than the TVR specialists who want nearly £30 for a pair? (I know its not breaking the bank but seems a lot for 2 thin spacers!)

Those generic ones seem terrible and I wouldn't want to run them, I'll just buy the good ones!

Found my front wheels are over 90 grams out of balance... no wonder I had vibrations!

New tailpipes turned up today, they feel a bit lighter than the originals but very similar, here's the difference if anyone cares!

Looks like you have bought the noisey ones, same as mine so hang onto the original cans for MOT time.

How do you tell? They are not sleeved and look almost identical to the old one(s) inside and out? That said I have been told by everyone that they can hear me coming a mile away! Is not bad inside the cabin though.

p.s. I have noticed a very minor misfire at around 4-5k, I want to put a new set of HT leads on to rule them out, Racetech and Powers Performance online shops both sell "upgraded or performance" sets for around £55, any recommendations?

It's barely noticeable, the cost of driving it back to central London and returning, then the same to collect for me is far more hassle than just spending a few quid on parts.

It hasn't caused a problem yet, and the 2 people I had in the car with me so far couldn't even notice, I think I am more in touch with cars than a lot of other people so often feel things before they are obvious it seems!

Cone on the end of the originals, where as the others are very flat, plus the noisey ones are a lot lighter as you said, that's how mine felt when I removed them from the box.
They sound great though.

They do indeed sound awesome!

I have a list of things to do once I have finished driving it every day over Christmas, in a couple of days I'll put it back inside, clean it and get back to work, then I want to address the following items:

- Get some heat proof matting and cover the bonnet above the exhaust manifold due to paint beginning to suffer

- Figure out how to re-stick the speedo top leather trim back on as it has come away and just loose

- Play with rubber seal around top of windows as flock head lining is wet at the corners when it rains etc

- Clean a few tiny glue marks off some of the leather where stitching has shrunk or moved

- Replace anderson plug with a new one (already have one) to rule out any dangerous shorts in that area

Congratulations on your purchase, if you're getting vibration from the wheels, get the tyre fitter to check that the wheel is actually round, the spider alloys are notoriously soft and if your car has an accident history, or has just met a few too many pot holes it may be the wheel causing the vibration not the tyre. I've just had 3 straightened and mine runs much smoother but make sure you take them to a specialist refurbisher rather than a tyre fitter with a lump hammer...

Enjoy thumbup

They are not perfectly round, I watched them being spun up on the balancer and may have been a couple of mm out. They were around 90 grams out of balance and I have to say there is almost no vibration what-so-ever now with them being balanced properly, even though they don't run perfectly true.

I'm loving it so far, it gets so much attention as well but for the right reasons, people smile when they see it, I think if I had bought a V8 Vantage people would just think I'm a spoilt twit and a snob!

I'm going to have to book a track day to get the most out of it, on the road it behaves pretty well but it appears the straight six is only really happy when it is pulling! It is a bit lumpy when ticking along, but sweet when I open it up.
