Clutch options
Discussion
Had one fitted by PPC at Melton Mowbray three months ago and have found the Helix to be excellent. No judder at pull - off and it seems a little lighter than the previous one with a little less travel required, although in fairness the original has obviously been on its way out since I bought the car in the spring and so normally may not be quite so heavy on the foot.
Generally very pleased with the choice.

The Helix clutch is available from other suppliers ( Helix is one ), You can buy spares but price them up,I found its cheaper to buy a new clutch this was based on Helix prices, The main issue with replacing the clutch is the flywheel and the fact that it will need the face dressing , I use a local company who will refurbish the clutch assembly and grind the flywheel for around £200 this is dependent on the state of the spring plate, but we are looking to source new ones, good old fashioned quality engineering is sometimes not a bad thing

That was my thread, 1200 miles in and I like it a lot. It's much lighter than the AP unit but other that that it's no different to the standard AP unit, also cheaper. Proof of the pudding and all that will come later in its life if it starts to wear and then how easy it really is to replace parts.Gassing Station | Tuscan | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
