Mk1 (Sep 2000)

Focal Bus 20 active sub in passenger footwell (piece of cake to fit and easy connect to battery).
Focal tweeters front mounted (but beer and lots of swearing involved!)
Focal rears in original location; head unit powered

Nothing for the audiophile but:

Inexpensive
Clear improvement over original
Loud enough with roof off
No interior modification required

Looks good! That's the sort of thing I think I will end up with..

Here are some shots so far:

Rears

Front Tweeters. Drivers side I have also put a mic in for hands free (for when the wife calls and tells me I've been out for ages'popping round the block'!)

New head unit

How have you fitted the sub in the foot well? Worried about space and being kicked...

Aaah, no need to worry about space... you only "lose" about 2.5"- 3". The sub's body is die cast, making it a solid foot rest without need to worry about damage. Speaking of kicks, it is rather the other way round. The passenger gets them from the sub eek

Will try and post some pics.

Sub located behind carpet; floor mat removed

Focal bus 20 fits length- wise; velcro L/R holds carpet in place

You're welcome, mate. Just for your reference, I have the Bus 20 installed- Height : 76mm (2,99") Length : 348mm (13,70") Width : 242mm (9,53"); it's the older version @ £ 249,-

I believe the newer model is the iBus 2.1: ( H x W x D) 2.8? x 13.5? x 9.8? – (71.5 x 344 x 250mm); about same £, but you kind of "gain" 4,5mm leg room over the previous model (in case killer high heels are of major importance). It is also 4mm "shorter", while the 8mm increased width shouldn't be a concern as mounted length- wise.

Hope it helps.
