Morning all,

Quick question. Will adding a front splitter improve handling at higher speed.

I don't particularly have an issue as I rarely travel over 60 and when I do it seems fairly well planted, just looking for that little extra.

Thanks

Certainly did with mine. I've a front splitter and nothing else.

There is a bar that runs across the car spanning the two front main bonnet mountings. From this horizontal bar there is a vertical section that goes down to the splitter and takes the down force load. On my car there seems to be a definite stability effect once you get over about 60mph. I don't have a rear spoiler but I guess that would improve matters further as I can believe it would shift the aero balance rearwards and help with taming high speed oversteer.

Hi, I had a front splitter fitted to mine, and tested its at 174 mph at Bruntingthorpe airfield on a TVR ride drive course, well planted and beyond my driving capapabilities.

Add to the above a full set of Nitrons all round with a get set up, sorted

Massive difference in the front stability. Not sure if you can buy the T bars off the shelf now. You couldn't when I had mine so I designed one myself and had it made. Bolted straight on. I've got the drawings still so if you can't find one pm me and I'll send you the drawing.

Try :

There is the splitter for sale too.

Have one in the garage, just waiting to fit it. You will need also a threaded bar, 8mm I think

If you can, buy two splitters, one on the car and the other being repaired, then swap when you clip a kerb or speed bump and crack the lip.

Of course, I can't tell you how I came to this conclusion................. rolleyes

Just an update....

Had splitter fitted when engine was out being rebuilt, bought the proper fixing bracket and left it all with Mat Smith to fit.

The difference is night and day, although I've not travelled at high speed due to keeping the car under 3,000rpm whilst running the engine in, but the speeds I have travelled it has made so much difference, the car is so much more stable from a relatively low speed and at 70mph it really feels a different car.

Now off to Power's website to buy a spare

that is very interesting! I have both the front Splitter and rear spoiler on mine and i have to say that it feels very planted at speed but i havent really driven another one to compare it with. I did 150MPH last weekend on Dunsfold Aerodrome and both the car and I would have happily carried on if we had more runway smile

I had mine painted when it was in the bodyshop and looks wise i think it looks great. it has 3M protector on it so will help with small items but not a kerb or speedbump but i am exceptionally careful!
