Guys,

Can anyone let me know if it is possible to remove the dash top in a MK1 without removing the windscreen ?

Cheers
Allan

Yes, you have to remove a couple of bolts at each side and the air vent pipes on the passenger side, it's quite an easy job. The bottom half is the problem.

I hate the top just as much as the bottom - my hands were just not made to bend that way. Neither require windscreen out - as said above two bolts - located just behind the shelf are all that holds it on.

Having kids that are reasonable with scanners makes it much easier to get the bolts back in when putting it back together.

Thanks for the info guys.

Looking at the dash, there are also a couple of small infill pieces covered in the same colour as the main dash top.

They seem to be attached to the windscreen surround.

Do they come out as well? or are they bonded in ?
