Mk1 and Mk2 Rear Spoilers

Hi all, am I right in thinking that the mk2 Tuscan has a different more subtle rear spoiler than the mk1 "S" spoiler?

Mine is a non-s and wondering about fitting some aero aids, but for me personally the standard mk1 "S" spoiler is just a bit too big on the otherwise quite plain (but curvy) Tuscan rear end. Was basically contemplating a smaller one, same with the front end- I really like the mk2 winglets but not sure if they will work with the cheese grater grille.

Both Dischordant and Niftynoo on here have examples of more subtle or better integrated rear spoilers than the Mk1 S style. I believe that they may be custom jobs though...

I like mine without personally, but if I was going to I'd choose one of their styles

Stevie is quite right, my Mk1 did come with a Mk2 lip spoiler (and an S front splitter) and was one of the reasons why I bought it. Unfortunately I've no idea how it was achieved, either by a complete new boot lid or 'fibre glassed' in.

Love the lines though and it's handy when lifting the boot lid open!

Funny what you get used to...I used to prefer no spoiler but now I'm used to mine I love it. The car is bonkers to look at anyway so another crazy shape on the car doesn't do any harm IMO!

I had mine fibreglassed on to the existing bootlid (though I kept the badge mechanism where it is) - I'm not sure if you could in theory just get the mk2 lid instead (though then you may need to fiddle a bit with relocating the boot locking mechanism).

Was a pain to get hold of as I'm not sure anyone has the mould for them (no luck with fiberon)- I sourced mine through TVR Power in the end though I'm not sure how they tracked it down.

The big spoiler does actually work in combination with the front winglets

It's especially not to my taste when the boot is up and the wind catches it like a sail and crashes it down on my head

There is a fix for that in an up-rated boot gas strut :-)

Agree with a poster above, i have a Mk1 S but my 'ideal' Tuscan would have been a standard non-spoilered but when you actually see it from many angles you realise how well integrated it actually is, its the standard S 'flat' spoiler and compared to the Mk2 spoiler, i much prefer it but then i guess i have likely become biased.. but it has a lovely 'curve' on the back, it doesnt 'sit up' like i expected but im confident its part of the reason i have a swimming pool in my boot..

My ideal aero setup will be S bits of front splitter and rear spoiler plus the Mk2 winglets - will likely go for Mk2 grille as well as the 'cheesegrater' grill is surely not overly aerodynamically efficient and provides less air into the bay ?? My personal theory..

Edited to jump on the pics bandwagon ! Thought this shows just how subtle it can be.. barely noticable from the angle..
