Guys,

Does anyone know about what wheel options early MK1 Tuscans had from the factory ?

I know there was a 16 inch option, in silver, but was there a chrome option available from the options list?

Cheers
Allan

Originally the Tuscan was available with RL 16" wheels and an 18" version was an option, the spider wheels came some months later, in both 16" which were standard & 18" as an option, these were available in silver and anthracite. Shadow chrome is an aftermarket option.

This is a picture of my Tuscan which was the 8th off the production line. I specced the 18" option of the original wheels. The Spiders were first shown on the 'Swordfish Spec' car that Samuelson used and was then used as a press car, I remember complaining to him at Brands Hatch in something like June 2000 that the spec had been changed so soon......my second Tuscan (which was delivered in Jan 2001, Gratis) was Swordfish Spec with 18" spiders in silver biggrin

How do you know that? I Know mine is early as its full of bits that were superseded very soon after launch, but I'd like to know how far down the line it was/is! I'm told that the majority of the early ones were all ordered with a £1000 deposit at the motorshow when it was launched?

Because I ordered it in 2007 (yes with a £1,000 deposit) and went to the factory in Jan 2000 to see it in final assembly. My dealer (Hawthorns) were told it was the 8th customer car made, and it showed biggrin

Oh and it was launched at the 1998 motorshow (the Moondust and Cascade Blue show cars) so I ordered mine before they'd even show initial concepts, seemed like a good idea at the time smile

Wow that was brave, and you even bought another one soon after?! Looking at the early history of my car I don't think the guy who bought it new would have ever looked at a TVR again!!

No I didn't buy the 2nd one (Swordfish Spec) Peter Wheeler 'kindly' agreed to exchanged the first one for for a new build slot so I only paid for the difference in new price between the two.

Still I bought my third one last November biggrin
