Hi all, enjoyed a couple of hours driving the Tuscan today, and apart from the heater just blowing warm air (stuck flap I assume?), it developed a bit of a judder when running between 3000-4000rpm. If driving slowly and in a high gear around 2k it's ok, but increase a bit to pootling along at over 3k it is very lumpy and juddery (is that a word?!), but WOT it pulls like a train.

I thought it may be HT leads breaking down, although as it doesn't seem to happen at higher revs I'm wondering if it is play in the throttle spindles?

Any thoughts?

Cheers, TC.

Sounds like the throttle bodies need rebushing. Worth getting the TB gaskets fitted at the same time. Dom @ Power is your man!

Jason at Str8Six did my throttle bodies. That was money well spent.

Your problem sounds a but different than mine but I had a misfire in 2013. Took ages to track down the problem but turned out to be the coil pack breaking down. Symptom was a bit different to yours as mine would misfire if I accelerated too hard.

Hard to diagnose without experiencing the fault/listening to car.

However, I would agree with last poster - coil pack and/or HT leads breaking down. Had a similar fault on my car 1 year ago, replacing both gat it back on song.

The only thing that made me doubt the ignition system is that I thought it would get worse with more revs? I have a feeling the leads were changed recently too, but will check invoices and probably do them first as dont look new.

Thanks for the replies!
