which tuscan to buy
Discussion
After selling my sylva striker kitcar i am just about to realise my dream of buying my first tuscan. The trouble i'm having is, do i buy a pristine looking, really low mileage car with no work done yet on a top end rebuild. Or one with more miles, but has top end rebuild and lots of receipts and history of a well kept car. It's alright saying don't buy the first one you see,but i have been wanting one of these for the last ten years or so.Being like a kid in a candy shop with a pocket full of cash isn't a good combination making rational decisions!HELP
Late car won't necessarily need a rebuild (reT350/Tam/Sag era), early one definitely will/would. Always buy on condition/history and don't be put off by by higher miles if the condition and ring binder file is in order. Be more scared of cars that haven't had money spent on them than those that have.
Rebuilds come as complete to be safe. Too manycars are passed on with little or no work done hence the failures you read about. Be prepared to spent £20k+ for an 02/03 with some history, £25k+ for an 02/03 S, later mk2s will go for £30k Safe rebuilds with documents only or there are cars that are well looked after which have had no rebuild & are still going strong. Note the comments on forum of repeated rebuilds, good ones will last well thats why they give 3 year warranties. Talk to local Tuscan owners Hants TVRCC is well supported.
