Sticking door lock?

Hi all

I have a problem with the passenger side door that is intermittent but is getting more frequent. Pushing either of the buttons gets no response (don't hear the solenoid fire).

The problem seems to be driven by use, if I use the red handle and then close the door again, the buttons then seem to work and continue to work until the car has been sat unused for a few days, after which the buttons may or may not work.

As using the red handle makes the whole thing work, I'm wondering whether it is just cack in the lock that is jamming the whole lock/solenoid mechanism. Is that possible?

The first thing I would check is whether you have power at the solenoid.

They do get damp and the contacts inside corrode (they are just central locking solenoids).

Take the side panel off next to the rear of the seat and you will have full access to this. Get your multimeter on it and see what happens
