Hi,
I need to remove the passenger seat to access and replace the seatbelt buckle which is broken.
Has anyone done this and how easy is it?
I understand I need to unbolt from under the car, but value anyone's experience first.
Thanks
Jay

Jay,
It's easy. Under the car - 4 off 13mm nuts - 2 on studs through top-hat section and 2 on studs through tube (both) btwn outrigger and backbone. You may have to wedge the bolt head(s) from the inside of the car to undo the nuts

Ease seat up and you can tilt to expose belt fixing on outboard side under black cap - undo bolt (5/8")and seat will lift out. Probably best to put the back leaning forwards as it makes the seat more manageable to lift.

Yep as said above -it's pretty easy - though getting all the bolts back through after can be a bit of a faff. If you are going to be messing about next to the bare fibreglass best to wear gloves - fibreglass splinters can be a bh

If it gets tricky you could just get Tampon and his FiL around to help smile

I'm guessing that would be the same process for the drivers seat ?

Travelbug - yes exactly same for both seats.

Might have c***ed up....they could be 10mm AF nuts. Either way, it's simple.

I had to angle grind the nuts off the passenger side of mine and then replace the bolts. Which is a pain in the arse, as I had to remove the runners from the seats first to be able to drop the bolts through. Next time i'll weld the bolt heads to the runners to hold them tight. No amount of wedging screwdrivers etc in was holding the old bolts in.

Thanks Nick. Right the next question is finding a good upholstery guy around the West Sussex/Surrey area... Any recommendations ?

Can't help with car trimmers in your area....but I'd imagine there's a few who'd come recommended?

I'd google or yell.com for your area choose 1 or 2 and 'phone to ask to see some of their work.

If the nuts/bolts are stubborn, then get some WD40 on them - several applications before attempting to undo.
