Door speaker install Tuscan
Discussion
Hi guys,
I need to start a door build to get some components into the MK1, but I was wondering if anyone could share any images of speaker installs in their cars?
I'm happy with a route for the rear deck, that's clear enough, just need some inspiration for the doors.
BTW, i just have the standard door grabs at the moment with no speakers at all.
Cheers
Allan

Best sound I found was tweeters mounted at the edge of the dash to give direct route/angle to ears with mids in doors (I put them in the bottom as I had large speakers and easier to fit there). I'll try and dig out some pics but I think I posted on a thread here somewhere.
I would go for the tweeter option too. The trouble with having bespoke speakers in the old Tuscan door cards is that the wiring tends to break/get loose with the opening/closing of the doors after a while. Or go for a bespoke speaker setup on the rear shelf..I'm doing this at the moment, Passenger side is done and now need to do the drivers side then get the pods painted or covered in matching leather.
Here's a pic mid way through without the tweeter installed. I mounted the tweeter in the upper leather part where the two parts join above the speaker pod. I'll take a better pic tomorrow if i remember.
