So I'm putting the last bits back together and I've realised I have no cam cover nuts for under the cam spark plug insert. I've bought some flange serrated M8 nuts and although, they fit Ok the cam spark plug insert won't fit properly with them on. Were these special thin or turned down M8 nuts on the early Tuscan?

Also, the throttle cable is pissing me off! I can't get the throttle to actually mirror what the pedal is doing. Firstly, nothing happens for at least 10mm of travel at the pedal, then the resistance I'm getting at the pedal seems ridiculous and finally the pedal doesn't spring back. When I disconnect the pedal it moves smoothly and freely. As do the butterflies when the cable is disconnected. It's a brand new cable from RG but I'm wondering if I have the wrong cable......

Any advice on setting up a throttle cable for the first time?

Presume you've got the throttle cable mounting bracket and return spring all in place.

If you are anywhere near Milton Keynes I have a few spare that would be OK for the cover.

Well here's a couple of pictures of the cam cover and the throttle cable.

Thanks for the offer. Do they look the same as the ones in the photo? Are they anything special? The cam cover seems to have a recess for a bolt which mine won't fit in. Is that how the spring goes on the throttle cable?

So I found that the M8 nuts for the Cam cover are special- they are much smaller in the OD than normal flare nuts. I could only get them from TVR parts.

The throttle cable replacement was found to be slightly too long for my car even though it was the correct part number. It was about 1cm longer than a 2nd replacement cable which now moves very smoothly.

However, I've found that I'm not quite getting full throttle at the throttle bodies when the pedal is flat to the rubber stop.

What is the best way to adjust this? Is it to wind in the pedal rubber stop screw, move the pedal forward(all pedals are level at the moment) or adjust at the throttle bracket?

Thanks in advance.
