I'm sure this has been asked before, but could anyone offer up the most appropriate (cost effective) big brake conversion for a MK1 Tuscan.

I've just gone from 16inch spiders, to 19inch powers wheels, and the wheels themselves look great, but the brakes......

Well enough said, but basically there's a hell of a lot of space in there now to increase the stopping power !

Any ideas greatfully received.

Cheers
Allan

The most cost-effective route would be to replace the original disks with 'S' spec discs when the existing ones are worn, 20mm bigger and you'll need some spacers and longer bolts for the calliper mounts, but the extra-over costs are tiny compared to proper 'big brake' conversions.

The Tuscan 'S' spec brakes are more than adequate for most, so unless your doing loads of track-days, or have significantly increased the performance there is little to gain from going any bigger IMHO

It depends which calipers you have as to how big you can go with a straight disc swap and spacers. Early 4 bolt calipers will take a max 304 disc, early 6 bolts and later eared pad ones will go to 330. Might be worth speaking to Brummie on here as he does kits with bigger grooved discs and spacers.

I went for Brummmie's 330mm front discs, with spacers on my CP5200 6 bolt calipers and standard discs on the rear.

+1 for Brummies discs if your calipers will take it. They looks the nuts.

bought the 330 discs and looking forward to seeing an improvement on the originals as I dont think that they are particularly good.
