So when I press the door release buttons nothing happens on the first press....If I hold it down then eventually I start to hear the solenoid trying to do something. After about 6 or 7 squeaks from the solenoid the door eventually pops open and releases.....

So what's happening? Is it the door control boxes, the solenoid itself or the actual catches?

Both doors do it and it doesn't matter if it's the internal or external buttons being pressed.

I had similar symptoms to this on an Tuscan, it was down to corroded connections inside the door. I cleaned them up and it sorted the problem.

Do mean on the mirror door release button? Or the solenoid cables behind the door frame?

My Tuscan drivers side always seems to fail to open on the first press.
