Aviva also relatively mods friendly although I'm paying somewhere in the middle of the quotes you got in London

Also worth trying Matt at Henderson Taylor, I think he also offers discount for TVRCC members.

I'm currently insured by..... Sheila's wheels! Cheapest quote I got at the time at £700. Worth looking at one of the comparison websites...

I was with Classicline previously and their breakdown service is second to none... well worth some additional cash. Also sadly aware that they are very good with realistic valuation in the case of a total loss :-(

Hi Op, did you post up about getting a Tuscan a while back? Have you got one now? If it's not your main car, worth trying a 5000 policy for second cars

Ive just renewed ( Feb ) after a few years with Aviva. Went with classic line with agreed value for my MK1 S. happy with the price and the extras. Like you did all the others and Classic was best price and service.

All seem high. What usage and mileage are you doing?

And my Mannings is not far off half for the Tuscan AND the Cooper S together as of December. They didn't load anything for Nitrons.

OP got a dodgy postcode ?

30 year old, doesn't sound terrible.
Garaged? Miles? Commuting?

I think pay about 700 ish I think for the Tuscan and wedge and I'm 31...but both garaged, limited miles etc etc

Yep they all sound high so maybe it's an issue with parking/garaging?

I've just renewed with ClassicLine, 3k mileage, guaranteed value of £45k and it's around £360 ish.

not garaged. 5000 limit, must includes 10 days europe cover. no commuting required but it would be nice on the sunny days!

It seems insurance companies are really charging more if its your first year with the car.

I was paying 390 on my 550 bhp e46 m3. same company wanted 750 for a standard 400bhp e90 m3 purley because it would be my first year of ownership.

Just had my renewal from Competition Car Insurance at £296.50 - only me driving and a 2k mileage limit with a £500 excess.

Not been garaged can have a big impact on price depending on postcode.

Some Classic policies only insure garaged cars.

Also a lot of Classic policies don't include commuting.

Classicline are good for me this year on the Tuscan.

Its not garaged at the moment, but Ill be building a car port before the summer is out to keep it out of the elements.

Yes not garaged has made about 200 difference.

Garage is currently full of race car & Trailer so no room at the Inn.

I suggest you try the NFU. They have re assessed their rates this year and I now pay just over £500 for a 3 car multi policy which cover the Tuscan a Mitsubishi Outlander and a Smart convertible. Service is great and you dont have to be a farmer!!!
Perhaps its this price cos I'm an old git
