Hi Guys,

Looking around to find everything I need to do to improve and update the handling of my Tuscan (Sept 2001). I've read a lot of different things across many threads, and really just wanted to bring the general consensus together into one place - maybe a candidate for a sticky thread?

So, can anyone confirm if this is everything I should go for, and that the values are correct?

Front wheel Spacers:
  • 3mm either side
Tyre Sizes:
  • 235/40/18 front
  • 245/45/18 rear
Tyre Pressures:
  • 22PSI front
  • 24PSI rear
Dampers:
  • Gaz God Pros
  • 12-clicks from softest at the front
  • 10-clicks from softest at the rear
Geometry Front:
  • Toe-In 0.5mm per wheel
  • Toe-In Total 1mm
  • Camber -0.75
Geometry Rear:
  • Toe-In Per Wheel: 1.5mm per wheel
  • Toe In Total: 3mm Total
  • Camber -1.5
Castor
  • Shims either side of upper-balljoint.

Tyre sizes should be 235/40 front 245/40 rear if you are basing that on the later factory setup, although I prefer 235/40 front with 255/35 rear and others prefer 225/40 front. I think definitive with TVRs may be a struggle...

My Mk1 is setup as follows:

- 3mm spacers
- 225/40/18 front
- 245/45/18 rear
- 24 psi all round
- Bilstein dampers
- Toe/Camber settings as yours except 1.25 negative camber on the rear
- No shims

Biggest difference in handling was made by changing front tyres from 235/40/18.

1.Spring rates are interesting?
2.Ride height?
3 Tire maker and exact type?

for fine tuning absolutly required details, one of above out of range and setup can be scrap!
