Folks,
I've had a good trawl through the forums, but can't find any suggestions for a camera mount on a Mk2 Tuscan for a track day that doesn't allow suction mounts.

A lot of people seem to be using headrest mounts, but as the Tuscan seats don't have any adjustable headrest bars I don't think this will work. I'm planning to mount a GoPro Hero 4 and an iPhone, so something that would allow a couple of devices to be mounted would be good, but it needs to be something that fixes securely (without me having to drill any holes!!).

Anyone got any suggestions?

Do you have any sort of roll cage or hoops?

Only the standard stuff in the Tuscan, so while there is a roll cage, it's part of the rear window surround and so there isn't a gap between it and the bodywork that covers it. TBH, if I could find something that would wrap around the whole thing without damaging the paint or the bodywork I'd probably go for that, but nothing found so far frown

Do they allow adhesive mounts?

Not sure, I assumed not as they don't allow suction mounts, I should probably ask!!!

What about a suction mount on the inside of the windscreen?
I have used a load luggage bar between the inside of the two rear quarter lights with the go pro handle bar mount to give a view from behind the driver looking out the windscreen so you get the occupants and all the rest that is going on in the car plus a reasonable view of the road ahead.

The retaining bar thing is a good idea. This one looks pretty solid https://www.amazon.co.uk/Milenco-CARAVAN-CAMPER-CA... and with that I can mount multiple devices ('cos doing one track day definitely justifies spending several hundred quid on cameras and accessories!!). Hopefully I'll get some good video. Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming if anyone has any more ideas.

Clive F does a harness bar for the Sag that mounts to the upper seat belt mounts. Not sure what changes if any are needed for fitting to a Tuscan.

Suction mounts for gear are pretty much not acceptable on trackdays now.

Have you got this setup in your Tuscan? I'd be interested to know if you've used it on any track days.

Caravan Load bar is not a bad shout if you are stuck for mounting locations. Here is mine on the Griff from a number of years ago. I bought I headrest mount i the end.

You can normally get away with a 3M adhesive mount, you can just about see in in the below photo at the top of the windscreen:

I don't do track days but yes I have this set up for the go pro and it is very secure. I bought the Sealy unit and other than putting a couple of winds of tape in between the extending sections to stop any unwanted clicking I have found it to be very good.

Ps with the Milenco model make sure that you get the correct width as I think I struggled to get a long enough bar and went for the Sealy unit as it comes in various sizes

Good point, I've ordered the one that extends to 1.67M, the gap between the side panels just below the rear quarter lights is 1.33M so hopefully it will be OK. Otherwise I'll mount it against the wheel arch covers. That will make it slightly too low but I have a couple of extension arms that I can use to raise the camera up. I'll post pics once I have the retaining bar.

I think that might be a bit to permanent a feature for me, but if I get the track day bug then maybe I'll look at a multi point harness in the future. One to bear in mind for later wink

Do you defo want it in the car or would on the bonnet be better?
I've done filming before where we've used a camera on the bonnet. The fixtures don't go anywhere.

I'm thinking inside the car, especially given the lovely weather we're having at the moment!!
