What do these newer generation ECU's bring in % terms to a boggo 4.0 with the minimum of sensor/loom mods in terms of betterment of standard Power, Torque, MPG, Emmissions (talking all-round usable, not balls-out mapping giving it all at the top end) ?
This explains it all quite well and will be largely applicable to the MBE..

Power went from 349bhp to 376bhp..
Do the additional sensors require engine out ?

Nope. Fairly straightforward. I machined inlets into my throttle bodies, created a vacuum manifold, and threaded the cam cover for the cam position sensor. All can be done with the engine in place.

Has anyone had CANEMS installed? And if so, what were the costs, and results?

I have an Omex 710 fitted to mine which I believe was/is a racing green product, I have to say the car runs perfectly even when taken into the mountains of Austria, the only down side is it does not pop and bang.

Did you have this installed or was it already on the car? I guess the pops/bangs could be mapped in to it?

I have an Omex on mine and rest assured it pops and bangs on demand. I can only assume it was mapped in by the previous owner.

Try Lloyds Specialist Developments, they have done CANEMS installations for SP6 engines..

The pops and bangs don't necessarily have to be mapped, there's other factors like cam overlap. Running syvecs when my car is warm I still get pops and bangs, and that is running sequential injection.

Interesting.
Mine was fitted almost from new by the previous owner, it runs lovely but quietly for a TVR.
