Hi - As anyone experienced their dashboard display & LEDs staying on for about 20 seconds on the Wavy dashboard model after switching the ignition off and removing the key?
This happens intermittently but generally after a run
Any advise appreciated
Thank you

Not experienced myself, but have seen post on other forums with reference to this and seems to be generally caused by a failing diode pack on the alternator. Some post say that applying the brakes when this happens switches the display off.

Thank you- can you point me in the direction of what other forums I may be able to search for this?

I had that problem on my convertible.
I discovered that if I dab the brake pedal after the key is out, then the dash goes off.....Got live TVR😄
It's a very simple fix but I don't know the details.
I think it's something about putting a supressor somewhere.

Ian at TirqueRVT sorted it for me.
I understand Dom at TVR Power knows too.
I'm sure any of the Indy's will advise you.

That's really helpful thanks - I'll call Ian - I'm not sure what the TVR&#12856 means, is that a reference number of some sort?
Thanks again Paul

TorqueRVT - fat finger problem.
The other bit was my iPhone doing weird stuff with a smiley.
It was supposed to say 'Got to love TVR' referring to pressing the brake pedal to switch off the dash.

Thanks again Tony - I spoke with Ian this morning (I must say he was very helpful), he sais this is a very simple fix, it is the result of feedback on the alternator - Takes 5 minutes to fit a Suppressor on the Alternator
The next challenge is a 3.5 hour journey to TorqueRVT

If you do come up, drop me a mail.
I'm back in the UK on Thursday for about 10 days.
I'm in the Lakes at the weekend for a wedding and planning a night away in Wales in the week but otherwise it would be good to meet.
I need to see Ian next week too.
Cheers,
Tony

Tony - I'm going brave with a couple of friends next Sunday- I bought a suppressor and were going to fit it ourselves, at the same time I'm going to change the hot leads to Magnecores !!

Unfortunately no luck today, we wired the suppression capacitor between the Alternator output and Earth and the fault remains, strange as I have the same symptoms that when I touch the break pedal the dashboard goes off immediately .
At least why I had the bonnet off we were able to fit new plugs & Magnecores plus a new power steering relay for reliability

So if anyone else reading this thread has any ideas please let me know

Hi Mackie, it may be worth giving Isn a call again and go through what you did, just to make sure.
I'd be suprised if it's not the same problem.
I was with Ian this week, he mentioned you called.
All the best.
Tony
