Hello,

Is there a trickle charger that everybody seems to like?

Hardwired to battery v's cigarette lighter socket?

Can the Anderson socket be used to trickle charge?

I have an Accumate which does a fine job. On my car there is a weatherproofed 12v fly lead next to the Andersen connector, not sure if this was a mod or factory fit.

Accumate you can use the Anderson connector, but I find the cigarette lighter connection is easier on the knees smile

I have a CTEK 5.0 MXS, does the job through the cigarette lighter socket.

I've got a CTEK CX-5 too.

It's hardwired to the battery with ~17A wiring over the top of N/S wheel arch along cill and through to battery compartment. The charging unit lives under the lift-up flap above the fuel tank, so it's handy to get at, yet out of sight.

The newer CTEK has a plug cover for the cabling to the battery - so no chance of shorting the battery out.

I have used the cigarette socket for the past 6 and a half years, works fine. 👍

I use the Anderson connector... There have been a few car fires from broken corroded Anderson connectors, so I feel that in using mine I'm more likely to spot a problem with it...
