can anyone explain how traction control can damage an engine?
especially if its a built in feature of an ecu (DTA) to be precise

Some cut the spark, some the fuel, some both, either way you could end up with an overly lean or overly rich situation. Sometimes the spark can be ignited at the wrong time depending on how the system is rigged up through the ecu & coilpacks.

I would want to read on on the exact process involved, but saying that a well set up system can be brilliant.

i am trying to get my head around why it would be designed with this obviously dangerous flaw in the setup , surely its the same as lifting your foot off the accelerator pedal

Not that good on the mechanical side of things but surely lifting your foot off the throttle leaves some fuel still being taken into the engine and sparks still being produced to burn off said fuel whereas cutting the spark on a TC system would have fuel entering with no spark to ignite it.
Probably totally wrong but I am sure someone in the know will be along to confirm or ridicule in due course.

This is the best traction control device your ever get, taken thousands of years to perfect smile

IMO Don’t waste your time with traction control devises, especially if has been said it can damage your engine.
The Tuscan has a very user friendly throttle pedal, lovely long travel, and the engine is super progressive in its delivery.
Good idea to go have a play somewhere safe and get used to it off of public roads, light up the wheels, feel it wagging its arse, slide it about, even spin it, this is the best education you can get.
TVR’s have this, IMO unfounded reputation of being scary, yes, sure, if your an animal with it, and don’t respect it, yes, you will disappear off the road, but, drive it sensibly, do not over do your own limits and your be fine.
All driving aids in a car like this take the fun out, them sort of things are best left to ”normal” cars, enjoy smile
clap very good advise, thats exactly why me and my get on so well wink
