Is that 41k without a rebuild? If it is then it's great news and congratulations. How old is the car?

FROM GARYF -

Ulster Tuscan - I'm glad to hear you have 41k on the clock. The first car I saw which interested me a few weeks ago was a 2001 model with 10,000 miles on the clock. When I rang the dealer to arrange a visit (Henley) they told me the car was exhibiting premature engine wear and was off back to the factory (it's still advertised).

Anyway, undeterred I have put my trust in a 2002 car with a longer warranty - to be collected next week. I'm hoping all will be well - it's my first TVR and I'd like it to be a good owner's experience.

I visited the TVR Owner's Club stand at the recent Belfast Sports Car show - not sure if you were there, but I blagged a sit down in the charcoal Tuscan. Hope to see you out and about soon.

So there you go, heart rules head yet again. Not the first, and probably not the last

car will be 3 years old on April 1st!!!! Sorry to say the engine was rebuilt twice early on (the usual with the early ones- valve gear) but since then no problems. It would appear that there is nothing wrong with the engine design and all the early troubles were down to a bad batch of components. I'm expecting to run this one for another year and then change for another or maybe a Tamora, not sure yet.
As a matter of interest I had 80k on my last TVR ( 4.0 Chimaera) and it gave less trouble than the Mercedes I had before that. The only thing I can suggest is "use the damn thing" they don't like posing around town and as I do a return trip most days of 50 miles mostly out of town mine gets properly warmed up regularly.

My tuscan is up to 40k but is more than a year younger than ulster tuscan so I guess in a month or two's time I'll be well beyond 41,000. I'm certainly with ulster tuscan on the 'use it lots' front and the warming up. By the time my T350T arrives I'm sure it'll be past 50,000. So if anyone fancies a reflex spice tuscan thats just about run in there will be one available in the autumn. . .
