Folks
I am a wee bit concerned about my wheels...

...Forgive me if this is a "done to death" topic, but I cannot find any other thread specifically on this point...

...my 2001 Tuscan was specced with 18 inch wheels and the front passenger side seems to have developed a bend. I use the word "developed" because I honestly cannot see for the life of me how I could have bent it!

I understand that the design of the wheels was strengthened about a year ago but that (so I am told) this was a "belt and braces" measure and the original design was nevertheless fit for the intended purpose.
To my mind, the additional strengthening added to the design sort of raises an inference that all was not right in the first place!

Any thoughts Tuscanites?

My late 2000 Tuscan has bent 2 wheels, one front and one rear. Sure I had hit a few potholes but nothing major. The original wheels were supposedly made to British Standards but are patently not up to the job. I'm afraid that you will have to stump up for a new wheel as many have tried and many have failed to get TVR to replace them.

I've got a similar problem - MV have told me the two front wheels are buckled but I have had it on the track and high speed and not felt anything through the wheel - they have a few marks from the previous owner curbing them but should I replace them or could I get them repaired

I would not worry unless you are getting a noticeable vibration from the wheel, through the steering etc.

I still have my original wheels and although one of the fronts looks like it is slightly out, I get no vibrations and tyre wear is even.

If you put it on a balancing machine it may or may not be out.

I think some owners have even managed to buckle the strengthened type.

Make sure you check your tyre pressures regularly as you cannot tell visually on the low profile tyres if one is down a bit.(or even if it is flat)

Cheers

Thanks also - I check the pressure daily with a digi gauge - think I will have them repaired until I feel anything through the wheel
