Went topless today (phnarr phnarr) and noticed the rubber starting to split on the side corners of the rubber surround, where the roof panel fits in. Pretty bad on a car only 6/7 mths old and the lid only been off a few times. Is this common. Looks like another visit to the workshop....

Mine have just started to perish - after nearly 2 years, but I have lubricated them regularly

Lubrication is good but it's also worth doubling up for ultimate safety and peace of mind.

Have finally taken delivery of my 1st TVR (Tuscan), and been making the most of the unseasonally good weather. I have to ask; what do you lubricate rubber surrounds with? (No its not a joke - its a question)

I use the Hfords seal/window runner lube on the roof a rear window seals, keeps them in good condition & fairly squeak free.
