Bank Holiday, really pi**ed off. Question for any technical buffs. Last night indicators packed up! Dealer service closed till Tues. Still have hazards and alarm works so not bulb. Changed fuse, nothing. Changed indicator relay, nothing. Had pod apart to check for loose connection, nothing. All other electrics working ok. Any ideas? Have I missed something obvious or is yet another trip to dealers? Only consolation is at least the weather is crap Any assist to get me mobile gratefully rec'd

There is more connections with(I think) another printed circuit board situated behind the trim just behind the drivers side door inline with the B-post just above the floor. ie just by the bottom rear right hand corner of the drivers seat. It is behind the trim which is secured by an allen bolt. I had an intermittent rear indicator pod, and the mechanic at my dealers went straight to this area. Not sure if it's related to your problem but might be worth a look to see if anythings loose.

Do you mean that all the indicator lights work e.g. when you put the hazzards on, but no light somes one when you use the indicator stalk ?

Do you get the beep from the POD ?

Fuse 6 is the Hazards + alarm unit.
Fuse 31 is the indicator.
Fuse 35 is the replay ignition supply.

Might be worth checking all of those. If you get the beeping from the POD, I guess it might be the reply. Otherwise it could still be the relay, but could also be the stalk switch itself.

Hope this helps some more thoughts.

Cheers,

Andy.

P.S. does your car start - it's not the alarm unit overriding the indicators ?

Andy,

Yes, all lights work when hazzards on. Car starts and runs fine. Don't get beep, presume you mean when indicating? Will try suggested fuses. Thanks for assistance.

Well if you don't get the beep I think that means that either beep is made independently of the relay (and therefore the indicator stalk side of things is broken) or the beep is made by the relay and it could be either the relay or the indicator stalk.

If you've changed the relay and it still doesn't work, it must be something upstream from that.

I haven't got my car with me today, so I can't have a poke around myself - I can't even remember what else that stalk does - is it the headlight main beam / flash ? Whatever it is, does that still work ?

Cheers,

Andy.

Had a similar problem in the Cerb a month or so ago. Reset the indicator control box in the boot above the petrol tank by popping off the connector, then re-connecting. Okay after this. Don't know if the Tuscan has a similar control module for the indicators though....

Good luck.

Yep, main beam still works
So far, changed fuse, changed relay switch, undone pod to check for any wires that may have fell out, tried on those nice white gardening gloves, which will be very useful as I can't go out in the 'Beast', cried buckets and asked why I got rid of Porsche - only joking!.
Thought I'd give AA a try - but don't hold out much chance. I'll keep you posted.....

Woopie!! Problem solved, but AA guy didn't know how either - he just fiddled with the fuse positions. He said the diagram is wrong in manual and that the spare fuse 42 is not there. Then he counted back from there and repositioned fuse, then tested relay switch again. The orig relay switch works so It's all very odd.

Think the Beast just scared of prospect of yellow vans and being relayed away......

Still, at least other half can go out to play tomorrow, while some of us have to earn a crust!
