I would like to thank all of you for you guidance over the few days. I have decided on a nearly new Tuscan S ideally a 2002 model. Is there any particular spec that I should definitively have? I think the "S" is fairly well equipped but recommendations would be appreciated? Also is there anything I should watch out for? Thanks again.

The only options I believe are paint (get a nice flip paint to really stand out!) and Hydratrak.

I got both and am as happy as larry.

It is also worth investing in a Leven petrol cap as the black plastic one is shite. Oh and some sports pipes from Carbon Can Company

If you want to hear what they are like then drop me a mail...

The flip-flop paint is totally a matter of taste. In my opinion, the car stands out enough thanks to it's beautiful lines and lovely sound and I think it looks much more effortlessly cool in understated classic colours like black, silver, racing green, etc. I think some of the chameleon paint jobs that scream for attention are just a little bit too mid-life crisis...

Sally,

Maybe if one's mid-life crisis is just restricted to a "look at me" paint job on a wonderful car then that's not such a bad thing...... ? That is how I look at it (and have justified it to myself) anyway !

IMHO the 'In your face' paint jobs have done wonders for TVR . BRG/magnolia/walnut dash etc had their place in sports car history , but Chameleon/Reflex/pearl are the right ones for the most stunning-looking sports car money can buy!
You don't buy a Tuscan to 'blend-in' with the scenery, do you?
As for mid-life crisis, I've obviously been in mine for a hell of a long time - Purple Paradise Griff, Saffron Pearl Tuscan, Nebula Blue Tuscan S, Flame Orange Kawasaki!

Thanks for all you opinons. I feel that I should go for something wild rather than subtle. I know it will attract more attention, hey but what the hell, that what a Tuscan is for! All I need to do now is find one.. I am travelling to the UK in next 15 days so if anyone has seen a 2002 or later Tuscan S for sale in a wild colour let me know.

Tried to get the best of both worlds with Crystal Topaz, pearlescent but IMHO subtle. Dont think it really matters, I've yet to see a Tusc I dont like. Was even tempted with a cascade but prudence prevailed. Whatever, the beauty of choice means you almost never see two cars the same.
