I'm in the same boat. Clicked on the old links and searched but the Demon Tweaks part number is no more.

Anyone know the correct pipe size/supplier? Better still, any more offcuts lying around?
You can get SS 316 polished pipe (Marine Standard, what ever that is) 51mm OD with 1.5mm wall thickness. 1 mtr for £20.

I think the cans are about 400mm in length , so 1 mtr should do.

Just a quick note for all of you trying to do this, it is without doubt the best minor bit of cash you will spend on your Tusc. Having had 2 V8 Chim's I felt the noise from the Tuscan was pretty poor so made this mod and now it's fantastic smile you'll find that you'll just have the car on over-run all the time to hear the pop's and bang's! Go down a narrow street and the noise echoing off the walls is just awesome biggrin however following others in winding country roads through valleys etc is something to get on tape biglaugh

Even when I did mine a couple of years ago the part number wasn't on the website but I phoned and they still had it. The stuff is basic exhaust pipe as far as I know which is probably why it doesn't warrant a website slot. Should still be available.

Stainless tubing turned up this afternoon.

Not a bad service bearing in mind I ordered it around 3.00pm yesterday.

Ok to summerise (ensuring there are no mistakes):

Cut the tube into 2 X lengths of 400mm

Smooth edges

Spray outside liberally with WD40

Slide in the back of each tailpipe possibly having to lightly tap into place with a mallet or similar until cannot go in any further

possibly add fixing screws if slightly loose

Is that about right?smokin

M0ssy, would you be able to get some pics of the process when you get around to it?

I'll add them to the walkthroughs on the website.

Cheers fella.

Exactly right, although I wouldn't go to liberal with the WD40 remembering that it's oil and exhaust pipes are hot, and when you have banged the pipes down the back box you can use the leftover bit of pipe to knock the 400mm lengths right inside (should go in about 2-3 inches further than the end of the back box)

I never did put any screws in mine as they were so tight but after 2 year one of them is starting to rattle about a bit, so it's a little job on the list. If you have time and drill (or mig welder) you might want to do it now while the brain is on the same job.

Thanks Ian

will cut the pipe tonight and fit them before saturday.

Im probably not the best mig welder in the world, as I have seen my handywork with a soldering iron and solder and the results aint pretty! so will hope they fit nice and tight! whistle

I assume it will definately have no effect on my emmissions test in the next MOT?

Just done mine.

Didn’t need WD40, as both pipes tapped in ok.

I made sure the pipe was nipped up when fastened back on to the exhaust back box.

One seems just a little loose, and may rattle slightly..... we will see. If so it may need a screw or other fastener just to hold it in place.

The increase in noise level is VERY noticeable, in fact I can’t quite believe what a difference it makes!

I thought it was more like smear them with copper grease which will aid their removal (if ever necessary). HTHwink

I thought my explanation was poor and someone would ask that!

To be specific, I've pushed the SS pipe out of the can by about 10mm to ensure the 'jubille clip' nips the SS pipe as well when the can is re-secured to the back box.

Does that make sense?

I think so.

Does this mean the both the cans are secured onto the back box with a jubilee clip. To fit the SS tube you have removed both cans pushed the SS tube through exposing it by around 10mm so when re-attaching the cans the jubilee clip will 'nip' the ss tube?

hmmm if so I wonder whether I should remove the cans as well.....?idea as all I was thinking of doing was hammering (lightly) into the fixed cans without removal ... smash

Yes thats it, just heavy duty jubilee clips secure the can to the back box.
IMO I think you would be better taking them off. Its a simple job (or it was on mine) and they pulled off quite easily. It gave me chance to clean them properly also. You can then re-fasten to nip up the ss tube as you described.
But be warned..... its very noisey..... the pops and bangs are relentless.
