Does the manufacturer know that people are having this problem with the holes not lining up?

Is anyone actually NOT having to either 'bodge' it or drill holes?

I assume that the car they used to design them may have been different to most (unsuprisingly!)

Mine fitted no problem at all. I used the screws rather than the bolts as I didnt want to start taking the trim off. Took five mins. Mine is an early 2000 model.

No problem with fitting mine using existing screws 2006 model, although I am not surprised that some don't fit as the cars are 'hand built'. Maybe they should have sent them out without holes then they could have been drilled to suit the car.

So from this I can assume that the test model was a later Tuscan. I would probably be lookin got fit proper bolts rather then self tappers - parnanoid about window flying out!

Well as I said mine is one of the very early tuscans and they fitted straight on.

These are back in stock - very quick delivery.

Took an hour or so to fit (in the dark!) much better than the originals and peeling the boot carpet back to fit the bolts is no problem.

One side was perfect - the other side th eholes were low so the clip does not fit completely flat so I might need to elongate the hole (easy).

I find the rubber bits far to big to enable me to easily do up the screws - I will be fitting soft velco.

You can pinch up the screw by hand and then just quickly tighten with the allen key - not quite as easy as the self screw ones but worth it over the orginals for stability.

I'm sure that if you could source screws that was easy was to tighten without an allen key you could just swop them over - anyone know where to start looking?? - was thinking there must be something used on boats that would do it.

I'd be interested in these clips if they were black anodised, not polished to a silver finish.

Nothing else on the Tuscan is silver, why would I want those clips to be?

It is only an allen key that can be operated on an angle. As long as you have the right size you should be ok. Pm coming about the box.

The e-bay one looks like the correct item, just ensure it's a 3mm.

I used the exsting self-tapping screws, had to elongate the holes in the new clips a bit as the originals were slightly wider. Didn't fancy ripping the carpet out both sides of the boot for four nuts and washers.

Also made up an aluminium backing plate last night for the drivers side as the clip was a little tight so the centre screw only just met the threaded boss, just gave an extra couple of mil of freedom.

I've got some pics which I can post up later this evening when I get home.

Cool would be good... I want to be at a stage where i can drive with the windows down and not worry about the screen flying out so going to hopefully use the bolts.

What are the clear sticky bits for that you get with them?

As promised,

Using the existing screws,

Showing the additional ally plate/spacer between the clip and body (not fully screwed home),

In the closed position,

To go between the clip and the rear screen, can just been seen on the inner face in the first two pictures, better than bare aluminium straight onto plastic.

It really is very easy to pull back the carpet in the boot to fit the bolts and well worth it over self tappers for security. You can not see the bit you pull back so no real need to reglue perfectly etc. Once you remove the old clip its all obvious really. I did it by headtorch in the rain in an hour!

I will also be looking to make some type of plate to bring out the lock as I am struggling to get initial purchase on the screw - works for now but will do later.

Also took the opportunity to put 'leading edge' tape on the screen where it catches the boot, reglued rubber seal and silicne sprayed everywhere.

For the first time in my ownership I have a non sticky, secure, non squeaky window - bliss.

Just about 20 other niggles ot sort now.
