Good news: 6 months and 3,000 miles later (including a week climbing alpine passes and 1 dry track day), the engine mount was still good. This may well work!

Bad news: this was confirmed when the engine was pulled out for a cracked cylinder-head :-(

That's an interesting solution. Have you tried putting heat insulating gaskets between the bracket/mount, and also on the nut and bolt faces? That way the heat won't even make it into the mount?

Nope, I haven't. I may actually do it, as the mechanic who replaced the engine removed the whole thing to put it on the far-side engine mount (he figured this was just an extra earthing wire for the engine and thus put it in a cooler place to avoid that the cable's insulation would "cook" :-( )

After 2 years, 2 track days and a trip in the Alps : the engine mount is still OK.
This seems to work!
