How quick can you get the rear screen in and out? Is the Allen Key method a pain?http://www.tvrspareparts.com/manufacturers/1-racep...

Note that the new window clips were not a drop-in replacement on my April 03 model. Some drilling required!
Also the clip placement on the N/S was tricky. My best effort still requires a spacer to lift the base of the clip away from the lip of bodywork (alternatively you can try replacing the fastening allen-screw with a longer one). The O/S was a piece of cake.
As a result, until I get the bits I need, I have an old window clip on the N/S and a new one on the O/S.
I stupidly left the allen key at home one gorgeous weekend trip recently but the clips stayed firmly in place without problems at 70+ with the roof off...

Hi,
I would be willing to look at making these again but using the same twist and lock approach rather than allen key method.
If anyone has an old but not broken one they can part with please drop me an email.

Russ - I'd be interested in a pair of these also.I would be willing to look at making these again but using the same twist and lock approach rather than allen key method.

Mind you, tf anyone does have an old but not broken on, I'll pay good money for it!!!
Presumably most people who fit the metal one's have usually not broken both at the same time...so, come on your guys - where are all the leftover plastic one's hiding!
Cheers,
Al
Thanks for the feedback guys, i originaly started on this with the help from Tuscan al who donated a broken one for the cause.
The test one was left with him to try out, it was based on using the original bracket thus allowing original screw holes to be used as i never believed owners would want or wish to start redrilling.
My new idea for the clip would retain the original bracket and locking mechanism as before, but hopefully a locking arm that is more suitable for the vast variation in cars. As i found out one day at the TVR center in Barnet when aussie Rob tried the original design for size on about three cars, and it was either too tight or just loose.

We ordered some rear window clips from Clever Trevor in May and still haven't got them, so I phoned up the guy from raceproved on Wednesday to find out if they were still making them. The reply was that they are in the process of being manufactured and should be ready in 2-3 weeks time. He didn't realise how long he had been waiting for them to be done. So in 2-3 weeks time I will be ringing him again to find out what the score is and will let you all know the answer.

Just thought that I'd update everyone with regards to the Tuscan Rear Window clips that Raceproved are manufacturing. I rang them up yesterday and they have now been manufactured and have arrived back from the polishers. They have now got to assemble them all and will be shipping them out to their suppliers in about 10 days time. Just to let everyone know that at the present they have 50 pairs to do.
So hopefully we will get ours that we have been waiting for since we ordered and paid for on the 13/5
