Andy..you just turn the key to the ignition point and press the start button. I had the start button fitted for more cosmetic reasons, rather than practical. I can't remember but there was a reason why the button couldn't switch off the engine, may have been more hassle to fix this way and for safety issues?
Have you had any clitches with the button since 2009? Did you order the kit or did TVR old Barnet (now Heartfordshire) provide it. Thanks Coco

Thanks Coco, Spoke to them and they are only an hour or so away. They are more pricier than TVR Central though, they quoted me £138 plus VAT.

I took this pic to show the sat nav mounting stand but noticed it had my start button on too so thought I'd share it on this thread as well. You press it once to turn the ignition on, again to start and the third press stops the engine, no need for the key, I designed the circuit myself from standard automotive relays and a few other components to create two short delays. I may change the switch to a blue led one as all the other LEDs have been changed to blue.

Good stuff - So yours switches on and off? No dealer seems to want to do that. How long did it take you to do that? Thanks.

Took me about a day to design, build and fit, would be a lot quicker now I have the circuit sorted. I use the extra 14v output from the alternator to trigger a relay once the engine has started that then allows the third press to stop the engine.

Mine is still in prototype form at the moment. I wouldn't be happy fitting that to someone else's car yet. It also needs another switch fitting so that if you turn the ignition services on you can then turn it off without starting the engine. When I get time I may develop this and then I could possibly fit to other cars.

Dani, TVR Centre (now Bespoke Performance) supplied all the parts and carried out the fitting, so I have no further details I'm afraid.

That's good going, well done.

When you say you don't need the key, is that at all? What about the immobiliser?

This is a really poor photo.
But here's where mine was (in the right hand steering column vent. There was one in the left hand steering column vent that turned on the speed camera radar too.) Cant help with who or where it was fitted as it was installed prior to my ownership.
Unfortunately I no longer have her but it looked the nuts.

I unlock the car with the alarm fob and that also disarms the immobiliser for 10 seconds which is usually enough time to get in and start it. If not I press the start button once to turn the ignition on then press the alarm fob which disarms the immobiliser again. The next press of the start button starts the car.

All I have on my keys is an alarm fob.

Very good. I understand mk2's have push button start and so do Cerberas. Do they also have no key? Wonder why start buttons weren't included in all the later models?
