Got home and a very well wrapped parcel waiting for me, my new screen all ready to fit .
Thanks Rob cracking job and a testament to the Piston head spirit to help others.
Just got to find the time to fit the screen now - how long do you think it will take to swop over if all goes well.
Dave, should take about 3 hours to take out, split down, swap screen, rebuild and re-install with no hiccups. Thanks Rob cracking job and a testament to the Piston head spirit to help others.

Only just spotted this thread. Maybe to late but could do with one if still available? If you have any PM me and cash on its way Ta Dave.
I have two left that i havent yet receieved money for but that people have said they want, If i havent had any replies from them in the next 24 hours then i will drop you a note. Wish there had been more available.
By the way, there is one on eBay that i havent withdrawn yet and cant til i get home tonight cause of restricted net access, minimum offer is set to £67 if you want that one (£63 if you want to wait and risk it). I will be withdrawing later if it hasnt gone because of those on PH that have said they want them.

Got around to fitting the new screen today. Bit of a leap of faith pulling all the layers of circuit board apart but all went back together v well and new screen seems to work ok .(thanks Rob)
Took about 3 hrs but i reckon i could do another in half that time now i know how to go about it.
Have now got fault code E coming up with start up tho ?

its quite unnerving but so long as your careful and methodical its not difficult! glad it all went OK, havent a scooby do about that error though?
Just saw the comment re testing - no i havent tested them, to be honest there was no way of doing so. At over two hours a change for thirty of the b*ggers it would have taken days and probably damaged my dash!!

Managed to get home from work at a reasonable hour last night 1830 so thought I would fit the LCD display before it got dark.
Took the pod top cover off and disconnected the leads for the cover and examined the inside of the POD for about 5mins then did the following:
Removed 2 screws from the left side of the POD bracket so the POD can be moved around a bit enabling me to get to the other hard to reach screws.
Removed any electrical cables that got in the way, so big one at the back, one each side for indicators and POD control.
Each circuit board is held in with 4 screws, so unscrew first 4, easy to reach now the POD can move about, then carefully remove the circuitboard, with fine tip pliers I loosened the other spacer type screws and did the same until reaching the final circuit board.
No need to remove that sucker as it doesn't get in the way of removing the screen. But the round thing with a cog on does get in the way (good technical term) i think it controls the speedo dial, 2 screws and out its removed.
Screen Can now be removed, doesn't really want to come out as such a tight fit, but my advice is don't be shy with it, it will come out with slight pressure, and maybe a flat screwdriver to help it out (remember you have a new one, so doesnt matter too much)
Trouble you have is fitting the new one. Doesn't want to go in... in fact I evenmeasured it against the original one to see if it was the same. It is... same seriel number and same size so it WILL fit.
Took me a short while but it needs to be seated just right to fit. When it is seated right firm oressure from behind will pop it in (don't forget to remove the protective plastic film!) then do the reverse of everything to remove and hey presto in!
Whole job took me an hour!.... until I went to put the pod cover back on and and realised the were 4 extra small screws not used.... careful examination revealed I had forgotten to use these to screw the screen to the pod! so... off it all came again at lightening pace to beat the imminent darkness that was looming...
Got there in the end, screwed the pod top cover on as it got too dark to see...
Other advice.. use 2 small cable ties, one each side of the pod for the electrical connectors, they dont really fit tight enough and if come loose mean you will not get control of your pod and lights wont work.
Anyway results.... PERFECT SCREEN! 'Jobs a Goodun'
Thanks Rob!
