Had this code come on today followed by the oil temp reading dropping
to 0deg, Does anybody know where the reading is taken from? I`m
hoping it`s just a loose connection on the sender/sensor
unless you know different!!

Thanks Gary, I know what the code means, i was trying to find out where the sensor/sender was, looks like i will have to ring a dealer I`ve asked on the ToG but no joy there either, may be we should stick to "spotted"

I've got a similar fault on mine & no temp value - coincided with two peices of wire with black blobby thing coming loose at the front of the car - You may have guessed I'm not a mechanically minded - however this was spotted when I was having some Nitrons fitted a short while back by mechanically minded types.

I believe(or at least hope) that this is a simple fix (if yours is the same). I'm booking my car in with my dealers to look at this amongst a few other things and will update this link if I have an answer.

Dealer is the best bet.

Problem is my wife spots all the cars when I drive and then has a go at me for not . For gods sake what does she expect when I'm at 180mph round a left hand bend

Hope you get it fixed Tony..

Had the bonnet off tonight to try and repair the wiring
the sender is on the offside lower part of the oil tank
the wires have come out of the sender and as they were held in with sylicon there is no way they will go back in so it`s another thing to go on the list of faults for the boys back at Blackpool

I had my Thermistor replaced by Gorner's,
the part was £17 plus fitting and all is
now o.k.

Holy thread resurrection Batman!

Can anyone tell me the part number please? When I get under there at the weekend if it's not just some wayward wiring I'll be needing a new 'un.

Thanks Basil.

Now. Does anyone know the real part number so I can avoid the usual TVR 'loading'? wink

I've got this exact same fault
Shows the same code and shows zero degrees on the bottom left corner of the speedo.

Does anyone know exactly where this is located ?
I've had a good look about the engine bay and in the front of the wings and cant see it.

If anyone has a picture of where I should be looking for it, it would be very much appreciated as I think on my car it may actually just not be there !!

Easy to find!

Jack car up, remove driver's side wheel and peer through to bottom of dry sump/oil tank.
Sensor is located on rear face (long side) - IIRC 19mm spanner fits - remember to drain oil from tank first!
New one is about 9 quid - IMHO not worth faffing trying to find cheaper! They do fail - water damage usually.
