Hi all,

I'm trying to tack down my old 220 coupe turbo that I would like back. It's currently SORN and uninsured (hopefully not being dismantled).

Any ideas how I'd possibly trace it? Or even better, recognise it??

Reg is L645 RMX, British racing green and cream leather.

Cheers!!

SORN is a good start - it has to be re-SORNED every year and there's no point in holding onto the logbook for a mid 90s car if it's been scrapped, so it still exists somewhere in some form.

Is a big forum for coupes I think, probably worth a post there too.

You could try a DVLA form V888. While the DVLA will not give you the details of the owner (for fairly obvious reasons) except in some very specialised circumstances you might be lucky and they'll forward on a letter for you.

If you can think of a better reason then "I want to buy the car back" then give it a try - you have some papers related to the car to pass on, perhaps. Something along the lines of

"My wife lost her grandmother's engagement ring about ten years ago.

Since her grandmother died recently she's been thinking about the ring a lot, and I have realised that the ring was lost in the week that I sold this car. There's a chance that it might have become wedged under the trim somewhere, and I really want to try and find the ring to give my wife something to remember her grandmother by. This is the only place left to look."

Might work. Or not. wink
