140mph yet the 75ml chase took an hour...
My thought exactly, either the police can't do maths or the speed detector wasn't working quite right!
That or he wasn't going 140mph the whole time..

He was doing an awful lot less than 140 to bring the average down then wasn't he!

I'm hoping this turns out to be some kind of BMW marketing thing for the 6er Gran Coupe:

"Aha! It appears to be a coupe, but actually it's a more practical 5-door configeration, giving you, the BMW driver, the best of both worlds. And a top speed in excess of 140mph."

(And, presumably, no indicators).

And in Germany this would be totally legal.

Bring on EU harmonisation.

Clearly wasn't trying. You can easily hit the assumed limited 155 in places on the M25 with no traffic. Did he stop for the Dartford crossing toll? Did the police? Reminds me of Blazing sadddles.

Guess it was like a sort of track day with a hire car, no worry about fuel, damage or tyres. Some good tunnels on the M25, next time he needs a cabrio with a decent exhaust note, but then the sirens perhaps would ruin that?

Reckon it was a theft gone wrong....

I think it may be an M3 - no run flats stolen using a key coding machine.....would definatly fit in with the type of car and the locality of the driver...

Best PH car chase I've seen - the guys who used a Scooby and an Evo to do a warehouse or something, booted it up the M40 hot pursuit style at 125mph.... and then were arrested when they stopped for petrol because the eve was empty somewhere around Banbury biggrin

Perfect planning prevents piss poor performance - that and a large fuel tank.

My poor mathematical ability leads me to beleive he may have been averaging about 75 miles per hour? In which case a SPECs camera would likely have let him off!

Really not newsworthy though is it. One numpty drives fast on motorway. A few wombles throw a wobbly. Numpty in chains. Good Morning.
