I haven't heard anything about this except OP's claim of a Ford Lifestyle PR.
Custard - or the PR equivalent - required.
It's all over the web. Here's one for you:Custard - or the PR equivalent - required.

I lusted after the original Fiesta RS back in the day and spent months searching for one but couldnt find a good one, ended up buying an xr2i and bloody loved it! It stood out from the others back then with its huge bank of fog lights in the bumper!
I quite like the concept of this one too but it would need to be capable of being modified to 290-300hp and have AWD to get me out of an Impreza and back in a Fiesta.

4wd and 300 bhp please.
I don't see it, personally. Not unless they use a bigger engine rather than a retuned ST engine, that said I don't know what the actual specs are so they could be using a bigger engine. I think FWD and 240bhp is more likely when and if it eventually goes on sale.As for looks, well it's not a patch on the last Fiesta RS, which is about 25 or so years old now.
I really hope they DON'T give it 300bhp and 4WD. I like the FWD and torque vectoring on my ST and I think a diff would make it that bit better. I already prefer FWD over 4WD in the case of the Golf R vs Leon Cupra 280, whereas the golf was grippy, boring and slightly understeered, the FWD Leon with the diff was more alive and did not understeer at all.
Regardless of the spec, I will be trading my ST in for one when they arrive. I think it looks great.

As for the RS, nothing seems to have come of it 6 months on............nice thread revival by the way!

And from elsewhere:
Ford has an internal product timeline that is shared with automotive suppliers. This isn't the latest and greatest timeline used by the Ford engineering teams -- this is a timeline that's a step back from that one, and indicates products that are on the path to manufacturing and eventual launch (usually 2 years or so later). The other day, I WAS SO EXCITED to see the FIESTA RS on the timeline. I don't know all the details, as I don't work for Ford HQ, but it looks like there are AWD components that need to be manufactured.
So the FIESTA RS IS COMING guys, and the rumors that the Fiesta RS will use the Focus RS AWD are probably spot on!
I was thinking HARD about buying a Focus RS, but I think I'm going to wait for the Fiesta RS. Compact turbo AWD manual hatch for less than $30k likely...dear God this will be a fun car. An Audi S1 of sorts, for the US.
I don't know how many questions I can answer, but I'll try to respond the best I can. I will then re-join the forum at a later date under a real account, not mentioning this one.
Could all be cobblers though but there you go.

I know this will go against the views of many purists on here, but it really bugs me in the UK we don't even get the option of the 4 door ST/ incoming RS but the USA does.
I think there will be plenty of OH's or people that need 4 door cars for whatever reason, I know we have the focus but some people don't like the engine/torque steer or how it handles so why can't ford just make a 4 door st for us?
RS looks like a great idea, don't think those pictures will do it justice, it also needs updated headlights etc to make it better.
If it is 4wd I would expect 240-250 but I know we will probably get 220-230 if we are lucky - hope mountune packs will be available at the outset that are ford backed to raise it to what the RS should be at but due to finance they can't do standard.
They also need to allow other colours than black, blue, red and white. I might be boring but I want a grey ST and they didn't do it on the old MK6 or on the current MK7 - I may be in the minority but I wouldn't want to have to buy in a different colour then have to shell out another 500-1500 quid getting it wrapped?

If manufacturers Are only going to be making either 3 OR 5 door versions of hatches, and not a choice of both 3 AND 5 door to save on manufacturing costs or whatever it is then my opinion is just make the 3 door and not the ugly 5 door. Can't think of Any hatches at all that look as nice in the 5 door as the 3 door. The absence of three door versions of a quite a few cars is a real shame. New Focus RS, new Civic type R, and Audi RS3 spring straight to mind.
