In April it was announced that the all new Mazda 3 MPS with a 2.5 litre engine powered through a 4 wheel drive sytem was due to be unveiled in Frankfurt this month.

Instead they have introduced a stupid SUV thing. Apparantly the MPS range isn't on their priority list at the moment and they may pick it up again in 2017.

My suggesstion to mazda is put it back at the top of your priority list

That is all.

Sounds like it'd be sharing a platform with the Focus RS!

So in summary, still no interesting cars from Mazda. frown

Fingers crossed at the very least they reveal a new RX-7/RX-8 replacement at the Tokyo show.

Doubtful as Mazda and Ford have split now.

I'm guessing that as Ford took the old MPS engine with them (which after evolution is now in the new Focus RS) the planned new 3 MPS would be based off the 2.5l Skyactiv-G (as in the 2013+ Mazda 6)

Im enjoying my 170bhp Mazda 3, but I will be sorely tempted if they bring an MPS version- oooh yes I would like that yes I would.
