That normally aspirated V10 is not 5.0L it's 8.0L (newest is 8.3L) and as has been mentioned before there is no mention of a supercharger. Are you sure your reading the right article?

I think the's refering to the BMW 5 litre V10.

Love it!
Don't see the point of the engine being painted orange though. You can't see it!

It looks better in the flesh - I saw one the other Saturday in the WalMart car park.

As for the car being automatic - it is using the mercedes W5A580 transmission as used on a Jag XJR-V8. Hardly bad.

The car is also based on the old version Mercedes E-Class. So Chrysler have the advantage of being able to use kit similar to that AMG used to tune the car for performance.

It would have been nice to have offerred a coupe version but it probably wouldn't have sold in the numbers to justify it, and right now Chrysler just needs to be super profitable to make up for the breakeven Mercedes division of DCX.

This vs an M5...Maybe against an E34 M5 in overall dynamics. Maybe against an E39 M5 in a straight line. But hopelessly no chance against an E60 M5 in any regard. As expected. The E60 M5's V10 engine is incredibly high strung and very high tech, as it usually is with BMW's Motorsport engines. Considering the old M5 V8 engine alone cost somewhere around $40K (that's what privateer race teams were paying BMW when they built their M3 GTR's), that should put the Charger's estimated total price (upper 30's) into perspective.

I like it. Shouldn't be called a Charger IMO.

Oops....very true, I stand corrected!! That'll teach me to read stuff quickly while at work!

I take it some of it back about the new Hemi then, if the 425bhp is all natural. I guess there'll be potential to squeeze some more out of it, even without forced induction.
