RE: Brooke unveils new sports car
Discussion
Dumb - it's not a 'kitcar' NEVER 'assume' things! - it was approved and ready to drive.
Also not spotted, the blue one is a gullwing version (note the 'green' version has softtop and although Lotus tried to copy a similar idea on Elise, the difference was the Dare top did not leak a drop.
And yeah, if we all liked the same things what a boring world it would be, but show me another car as radical as this, that 'worked'?

don't like the dare much but i've sent a request for further info about the brook, looks awesome fun, i think a roof would be a nice option evenif its only canvas, carbon would be nice though bit like the hard top seen on morgans as apposed to that that was created for caterhams.. yeah i know they don't look the same but this is the land of the finest design engineers in the world... do it brooke! and i'll order one and if it's not to bouncy i'll drive it daily, who wouldn't? looks with a weight like that to be realitively easy on fuel.. are we thinking 4. secs? brg blur
Okay quick apology before you gripe that you didn't say it WAS a kitcar.
Perhaps if you got close to one you would realise that the standard of build is way ahead of any normal 'kit'. Just because the Walkletts built kits they get tarred with it (the Elan was originally a kit but how often do you read that?) the Walklett's skill in light weight sports cars usually matched or excelled over Lotus (ironic coincidence that they launched in a rush the [imho] ugly (intended light weight) 340R at the same time as the DZ launch at the Motor Show - if the DZ had had a Lotus badge on the front the story may have been so different, but then you could put a Lotus badge on a shopping trolley and it would be news (think they did actually).

The Brooke looks, and by all accounts drives like a dream! Who cares about some other one when this is now becoming available. I want one!
It has all the looks of a wonderful experience waiting to happen. A real head turner.
Dear Santa please can I have a Brooke for next Christmas, but please deliver it beforehand. I promise I'll be good.

why isn't anyone bothered about the fact that even the silliest low speed roll will kill you?
It looks like it has a very low centre of gravity so will be tough to roll. I'd imagine people who would buy that sort of car aren't overly concerned by the safety aspects.
well I agree, it's not gonna tip over with some sidewind But a mate of mine had a very low speed accident, nevertheless his elise (not exactly a high CoG either) did roll onto it's roof. Everyone ok-ish of course, but in this car you'd be dead. Not something you can ignore imo, but then again i'm not buying this car so fair enough
I think the Brooke looks fantastic, and a nice alternative to a Super Seven. Its got to be the ultimate configuration with an inline gearbox and mid mounted engine like F1, nobody goes round corners like those boys! I bet a roll hoop and tonneau cover is on the options list?
I will definately pay them a visit at NEC autosport show next week....

It looks great side and rear angles imo.
Theres more about it here.

Please be aware that the thread was started in reference to the Brooke, not the Dare!
Seriously please don't confuse this with a kit car, it's a serious machine that has been developed over a long period of time by some very talented people. There has been input from experienced engineers and designers on certain areas of the car who have worked or are working for some major UK car manufacturers.
Anyone who takes a look at the car at the Autosport show next week will see that it is a cut above the usual. The body may be of a similar style to previous cars but underneath there is an extremely sophisticated all-new chassis.
I have also had the pleasure of following the development of the car closely and can honestly say that the talented guys at Brooke deserve every success with this project.
