That V8 looks like a straight 6 to me??

It's a picture of one of the Roadster engine bays. Bit out of context

Nice one Ted, good pictures also...I knew then and I know now for sure since I visit Wiesmann at the open day last wekend, I want one! it proberbly will take me some years and buy a second hand, but I'll wait till I can afford one.
The latest 4.8i V8 is a fine engine, and for some thats not anough, in 2007 there will be a even faster one or with a 5.0L V8 or even the V10 M5...
There stood a prototype(one of the first) with a 430hp engine
you can see my wekend trip and other pictures under thsi link, better don't look though because you want one too! in the real they are even better...

I thought it had the M3 straight 6 in it? Is this a newer version?

Yes its a new coupe version, the roadster still has the E46 M3 engine in it also because its smaller engine bay(steel tube chassis), and the new Wiesmann GT has a V8( and Alu chassis and al other stuf).......very very nice stuf they make there, you instandly fall in love with that GT, I know I did and I'm saving already
GTRene

All Alu also this all Alu real craftmanship

and this and many parts more even the pipework for cooling handmade Alu

The roadster will only take the straight 6 - has been done with E46 M3 engines and 2.8l. The Coupe is engineered for the V8.

Here's a link to a cockpit shot I took of the roadster at the MPH show. I've uploaded the full size image so you can see the details of the stitching and those fabulous instruments.

The footwell is tight, because the engines are mounted as far back as poss in order to get the weight distribution correct. The engines are well behind the front axle line.

I love the looks and sat in one at MPH, way too claustraphobic, the Griff was leagues ahead. I'd still have one tho

Doesn't anyone feel such a beautiful car should really have the M5 V10, to give it the performance edge it needs in this market? (especially at the price they charge!)

All this hunger for the biggest amount of avaiable power I just don't understand. A Wiesmann will never be a car like that.

Borrowed your pic GTRene . . . want one too straight six or V8 whatever, 400 horsies will do just nicely. And that's enough to keep it in hands. More power will turn it into a uncontrollable dragracer.
The interior is so refined and comfy. Unlike the overstatement that the sPuker is. Luvly stuff.

yeps, and by the way, I've heard from first hand they are busy with that V10 M5 engine, two of such monsters...orange light already...waiting for road tests and green light...
But a faster V8 with 400+hp is also in the pipeline
I heard from some people who drove the 367hp car they found it superfast almost scary...but I guess those people did not get used to fast cars? anyway faster Wiesmann GT are coming in at least 2007

I think Clarkson tested one in the last series of Top Gear and I think he liked it?
Indeed he did and yes, he did... I seem to recall a review in Evo that was also very favourable. For me this has to be one of the sexiest new cars in the world right now. I have nothing against Astons, et al but this to me just seem so, well... classy. I'd love to be seen stepping out of this somewhere in California - the poor blighters wouldn't know what hit 'em...

I believe that Wiesmann are in negotiations with BMW over a limited amount of the M5's V10 to be supplied for installation in the Coupe... I suppose it helps that some of BMW top brass own these wonderful cars! To be honest, if l remember reading rightly, the Coupe in V8 form may end up with around 440 bhp - which is, as Rolls Royce would say, 'adequate', especially considering it only weighs around 1200 kg...

Having said that they are £65,000 plus which IMHO is an huge amount of dosh for a fairly average looking car & performing car.

You think that is average !!!

I like it , very similar to the Morgan one off that they built .

As you all can see on this picture(thats me standing next to the, I wisched that is my car) I was that close to the car, and I do think we make a nice match, I'm in love...lets hope she is too, maybe she will see it in a few years when she is somewhat older and I can afford her?

It just screams Jag D Type or Aston Martin DBR1 apart from the back end which, for me any way, says Audi TT or VW Beetle!

Sorry, I will stick to saving for the D type.
