"this year GTA hopes to produce a 1:1 finished prototype"

So let me get this straight. Their aim for this year is to build one that is the right size?! Woah there! Let's not be too ambitious.... laugh

So, despite what many of you may think it is not going to be the case of Arj forecasts...
Actually, I hope it becomes a storming success! I wish GTA Motor lots of luck - a successful new sports car would be an excellent antidote to the current blinkered car-bashing by European governments (whilst ignoring major polluters such as agriculture and power stations).

Still, it is rather funny how the article looks similar to articles/press releases from the past about new cars which never really seemed to materialise. For example, I'm still waiting with bated breath for a new range of TVRs...

Another company with a long history of making super-fast thoroughbred sports cars?

I predict the following:

It will suffer huge delays
The company will go into liquidation once the current team run out of dosh
Some other idiot will fund it to fulfil a 'dream'
A test mule will be built and then touted as 'nearing production' (basically by repainting it every time a journo is allowed to see it)
It will appear at motorshows in a shell scheme with a couple of dodgy looking 'models' sporting cellulite, dodgy skin and lycra in equal measure
It will finally end up with a low emissions V6
They will price it as 300k Euro
They will then realise no-one want to pay that, so it will drop to 150k euro
Still no-one will buy it
The project will collapse and the investor will cry into his empty bank account
Someone will then try and revive it and create another 3D render
PH and most of the motoring press will cover it as there's not alot of news on and it's been 3 days since a 'supercar' launch

Will it come loaded with a 'tantrum' function for everytime it gets beaten by a more talented car and hence not hold unequivocable number 1 status?

Pontiac V10? As far as I know, Pontiac doesn't produce a V10. Does the author mean the Dodge V10 as sourced from the Viper?
Was just wondering the same.
Any1 got some more details?

I'm sure it'll go the same way as most of these projects trying to start a new supercar brand. Pagani and Koeniggsegg (spelling?) have done it, but this doesn't have that wow factor IMHO.

Yeah, considering a dedicated GM forum hasn't heard of such an engine, perhaps something got lost in the proverbial translation? As far as I know, GM's only engine with more cylinders than 8 in development is a Cadillac V12.

Sorry to sound cynical, however we have been here before countless times...Marco's, TVR, Ascari, Noble etc have appeared and then disappeared and it is not as if the Spanish are renowned for building cars (Seat excepted) esp in this sector of the marketplace. Plus will the car be homologated for the world as I think that the UK is unique in SVA regs.

Both Belgium and Italy have an SVA type arrangement.

There is also EU Low volume approval (Small series)comming soon.

But if you were building a car from scratch you would be able to design to pass.

Testing is VERY expensive though.

Belgium is not exactly top of the list for buyers of supercars, and who honestly thinks this could crack the italian market. Crash testing, noise and emmisions must make it very difficult to get through, as well as the expense. Best of luck but they have no chance...even the likes of Spyker who have used Audi engines have found it tough (and not built any cars for a period), Pagani has his Carbon Fibre business to rely on (thanks to the avaition industry) which is booming. Doubt we will even see a prototype!!, incidentally whatever happened to themodern Stratos I thought Prodrive were preparing it for production....now that car has a heritage and would sell (at a sensible price!)

I went to the site http://www.gtaconcept.com/ and if you click on the English translation of the sentence, you'll get English. It refers to a supercharged V10 but doesn't mention origin. I don't know where any information about a Pontiac engine comes from. I don't see that as a possibility at all.

I hope they are not making their own engine!

We've seen that tried before with dire results.

The Spanish dont know sod all about cars, let alone supercars... so I doubt this one will come into fruition. Looks like a rip off from the cars mentioned to, not exactly a good start, apart from the V10 bit smile
