I can understand the bit about the audi TT. Here's why. Buy a sports car, it looks like you like to have fun, but it also looks like you may be trying to "compsensate" (not my words, one of my women friends'). Buy something american and you can look trashy or limited with options if not careful ("I got such a deal on the seville/300M/Mondeo/mustang"), japanese cars are often thought to be soulless upon appearance even when not, and that reflects poorly on the owner. So, a mature, refined sporty european car. germanic surely. VW? common. BMW? hairy-chested. Porsche?"compensating." Audi TT says "fun, mature, nothing to hide" to women, I think. Even if it is a barge compared to a boxster or M roadster, and has a tendency to resemble a new beetle or bar of irish spring sport.

I agree in theory. But try this test... show the average bint a picture of a TT and ask her if she knows what kind of car that is... The response may surprise you. It has been my experience that most triumphantly proclaim it as... "...well, that's a Porsche, silly, isn't it?..."

There are "Car Guys" but very few "Car Girls"..

And if I'd bought a Boxter they'd not have a clue what it was...

FWIW Even driving a TT doesn't do me much good.. maybe if I could crowbar the wife out of the passenger seat..

It's amazing the different responses you get out of people over the same car. I've been with girls when a griffith rumbled past. One said wow, gorgeous, that must be expensive. The other said that sounds knackered, horrible! Horses for courses and all that old biscuit...

My girlfriend is a rare breed - a girl that knows all about sportscars in some detail! All the ins and out's etc, so to speak. ; )

Wish my washing machine did. I'd use it far more often just to pi$$ off the neighbours

Not sure what this says about me. I have an Elise 111S and I am awaiting delivery of my new TT. Guess that makes me the most attractive ugly bloke in the UK????????

Feel pity for us bikers then! most women won't get on the back, even less on the front. However, those that take the plunge and get into the swing of it, really get off on it as well. Allegedly V-twins have the same effect as sitting on a washing machine. Whatever that means...

When I was at school (early 70's) a girl turned up to collect her brother, she was riding a brand new Kwaka 900. She was just over 5' tall and she could really ride (the bike that is ). I was too young at the time for any other riding with her .

'Er indoors tells me that a Triumph 5TA does much the same thing! Which is probably why I find her riding that on the weekends more than her 996!!
