So basically, all that hype about returning the quirk to Saab has now dissipated and Spyker (cars-wise) are now moving to be a British parts-bin vendor?
Not meaning to sound cynical but I'm not enthralled by the newly instated prospects for Saab (if Spyker wasn't profitable enough on its own to bother retaining the brand, what hope have they got switching to an entirely different market with an ailing company?), it seems that the only way that Spyker N.V. can capitalise on this is to push Saab further up the luxury (bespoke niche?) market to milk their previous expertise, but that's hardly going to happen considering the debt pressure to increase volume (as promised).
Very concerning for Saab but all the best for Spyker, I really do hope they manage to make the magic happen with their new owners.
(p.s. don't get me wrong, I'm excited about the GM lumps too but it's one step towards thrift and volume that may lead to others. Let's hope this is just paranoia on my part!)

Limited, which is owned by Vladimir Antonov."
I thought that Brendan O’Toole was one of the owners or is he an owner of a subsiduary of the holding company? It all seems like an accountancy trick.

So, reality is that it is NOT our industries. It gives employment which is about the only good thing, BUT there is a massive downside - a foreign-owned British company can suddenly decide to 'up and go', as has happened.

Well at least CPP are big company, and employer (Yes Groomi, how're you doing BTW mate?) of West Mercian artisans, with their fingers in many corporate pies so hopefully they aren't just in this to gain a prestigious jewel in their crown so burdensome they get pulled headfirst into the ground by it.
Still keeping fingers crossed, but compelled to hear the naysayers song 'cause it sounds eerily familiar.
Is it too late to tie Brendan to his mast??

I am sure the move is not only a financial trick. Behind it you can find car enthusiasts, like Victor Muller and others, who care about the brand, and would like it to survive. Spyker could be long dead, or never born without them!

Swearing and making crass comments about British industry are a bit juvenile. Perhaps more considered comments would garner a better response.

I was referring to the fact that no cars are currently built in Coventry for a Coventry based company - once the epicentre of the British motor industry. Jaguar only have a design/engineering centre in Whitley (Coventry), Land Rover is further away at Gaydon.
