Any idea of the part number for speedo sensor for a 2002 Speed Six Cerbera. TVR Powers website suggests its M1889 but Clever Trevor says M0631. Pretty sure mines failed and not just dirty or misaligned

For those that want to know - even though my Cerb is a Speed Six it still uses part number TVR M0631, same as the V8 Cerbs. So listed incorrectly on TVR Powers site

Despite what some people have said I found it simple to fix even for a complete amateur like myself. Jacked the car, removed the offside wheel, undone the two 13mm nuts holding the the sensor bracket to the diff (drivers sides) Couple of cable ties to cut and then disconnected the sensor cable from the multiplug. Removed the old sensor from the bracket, screwed in the new sensor to approx where the old one was. Plugged the new sensor in to the multiplug, mounted the bracket back on, set the gap with a set of feeler guages, tighted the lock nut, cabled tied the cable to the chassis.

Worked first time out

I object to having to fork out £80 for a sensor that shows no sign of damage. Does anyone know what the failure mode is: do they corrode internally, does the insulation break down? It's just a magnet with a coil round it - what can go wrong??

Zero external damage on my one, didn't look like it had ever come into contact with the toothed wheel. Only thing was the the lock nut had corroded to the sensor so luckily the new one came with a new lock nut. I might disect the old one if I get a chance, just to see if I can see any problem.

£80 is a bit steep, but still was overjoyed when the speedo registered since if it didn't then next stop was a speedo repair and probably a great deal more than £80
