The consequences of wheel failure doesn't bare thinking. Took mine off last week and checked them as I'd hit a couple of pot holes, I found nothing so sinister! It's a worthy post that may get owners checking, I very much doubt yours is or will be the only case. Well spotted sir! Good luck with the resolve. D

Just a thought would it be worth moving this post to the general forum as Many TVR models are fitted with the spiders?

It may be my wheel spinning starts, as I ry and improve my 64 foot times, but also check the cracks in the rim as well as the points where the nuts are. oh and Gazza...these rims are actually about 11 years old. I ordered 2 new rims this morning.

PJ Hi Paul, I got them from TVR Power. - They are actually on offer and only cost me 132 GBP a corner! - I was going to think about changing for something lighter/stronger, and also maybe a change as these puppies have been on for 11 years, but the low price and my Northerm tightwad instincts took over. I am hoping as the ones I took off are "rears" and the new ones are "fronts" that my wheel arch rubbing days will be over.

I've forgotten now BUTDoes that mean 42 offset all round ?? (and doesn't that mean that your rears are more likely to rub on the outside of the arch ?? Like I said, memory like a ..... Ummmm .....

Like I said, memory like a ..... Ummmm ..... It's the other way round MrC.....the more the offset - the further inward your rim sits
