I don't like looking at photos of your car, it just hammers home how awful mine looks in comparison. The only consolation is that I should be able to drive mine again soon, hopefully to Zolder at the end of the month.

My deadline is the end July - hopefully in time to play on the long runway at RAF Woodbridge as a guest of the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club. Good luck getting to Zolder! Its been a big old job getting it like that - last night was the first time in 6 months that the body has been bolted back onto the chassis.

Its not that bad. Suspension is all done and on the chassis, gearbox is rebuilt and ready bolt back on. Just got fuel lines to change, refresh wiring, re-veneer dashboard, sort out front cover oil leak, reassemble alternator & ac pump & coils etc, then engine back in, bleed brakes and clutch, connect up steering, interior back in, MOT and alignment check and it should be good to go.

Pick what you think is a genuinely realistic figure - then treble it. You wont be far off. I know, and that's another reason it's not getting done. I won't do it myself, even though I did an apprenticeship as a mechanic, I have the attention span of..........what was I saying? Anyway, I know I'd be great at pulling it all apart but then realistically I know I'd never get it back together. I've identified who will be doing them both, we have a rough figure in mind. Just need to get those lucky numbers right then I can run around in an Aventador or something similarly dull while they are done

You have to be willing to put other things on hold until its done, or I strongly suspect it could actually take forever.

This is my car this morning dried off after driving through the rain Thursday evening. Is this stuff what I think it is? I can't find any obvious place that this stuff would have come from the body, its just all over the rear of the car.

It looks a lot fluffier in person, like it chewed up and pit out some sheep or something It has done something similar everytime I drive through rain, but this time the covering is much heavier.
