Sorry to read that... If you buy a used car from a dealer, you have 12 months warranty and if it's new you have 24 months warranty. That's european law. I had something similar, when I bought my TVR 2007 from a TVR Main dealer in the UK. It takes nearly 3 years and a lot of patience to get some money back... HTH

Rather than spend on the s6 I'd have been tempted to go the whole hog and go down the route of a 4.7ajp making a very special brand new cerbera Or he could bring it right up to date with a SP6 4.5L supersport, or get a SP6 FFF from Racing Green.

There is some evidence this is indeed what may have happened! Here's the rebuilt one though. Wanted to keep to standard spec.

I imagine it is possible to completely swap the identity of two engines. Shame about the engine though when the rest of the car seems so good. You should have no more issues now though.

Yep, as I say there is some evidence, can't say any more until the evidence is tested in court. Dom did say the engine had been out at least once, dismantled to some extent and put back together badly (gaskets and bolts non standard) which again would be 'unexpected' for a 970 mile engine.

Hi Paul, this is the reason why the dealers/companies sell the cheap cars only for export outside the EU and you never had a chance to buy a car really cheap. In germany it's different if you buy as a company/businessman a car from a dealer/company, than you can exclude the warranty in the contract. But as a private person, the dealer/company must give you by EU law 12 months warranty for a used and 24 months warranty for a new vehicle. For you as a customer it's regardless if the dealer give you the warranty on his own or if he make a contract with an insurance company. If you buy as a private person a car from a private owner, then you have no warranty... Sorry for my english... Regards chris willy

Thats shocking. Hope you get what you want out of it at the end.

One thing I could do with is some help decoding and/or records of engine numbers recorded against VIN numbers.(I have the decoding of VIN's but not engine numbers.) Thanks!
