Aide, do you think a gen 2 nexus 7 would be ok?
Sandy
Never mind, i just bought a gen 1 nexus 7 on ebay.Sandy
Sandy
Happy to get help you get up and running with the Nexus 7 (2012).
In the meantime, can everyone wait until Sandy confirms 100% that the Nexus 7 (2012) works?
(I tested it yesterday and I'm going to test it again on Monday anyway, just to make 101% sure)
That's the best I can do.
So, please don't buy something that's not confirmed first!
Many Thanks and kind regards
Aide.
Just like to say a big thanks for all the time and effort put into this software, works great on my galaxy note 10.1 and htc one m7. Ended up splicing into my obd port as couldn't get anything from the 3 pin connector but works perfectly now. Been having rough running problems and showing afr1 fault whick comes back even after resetting everything if anyone has any ides.

I'm glad to hear it has helped to see a fault.
I can't offer any advice on your AFR fault outside of a simple thing.
When the engine is running below 4,000 rpm it operates a closed loop lambda feedback system.
Which I think was devised by greenpeace.
At rev ranges below 4,000 the ecu uses information from the narrow band lambda sensors in the exhaust to determine if it should add or subtract fuel from the base fuel map at a particular rpm band (of which there are 16).
An AFR fault is triggered if the the amount of fuel needed to add or subtract is greater than (please don't quote me) 40%. Needing to add or subtract fuel, from the base fuel map, greater or less than 40% is an AFR fault.
The causes of this are another story.. But if you look at the min/max adaptive values you can see if they are positive or negative. If they're negative then that means the ECU is adding a trim value to the base map because there is too much fuel. If they're positive then it means the ECU is adding fuel to the values stored in the base fuel map. (I'd be more worried about the positive adaptive readings) Also bear in mind that the base fuel map is shared across both banks (123 and 456 for the speed six or 2468 and 1357 for the V8) and the adaptive values are determined in realtime per bank.

From what I remember my adaptives where hovering around zero with no major fluctuation, my throttles stayed the same at first then throttle 1 jumped to 19 while 2 stayed 15 then the afr1 fault came on, lambers stayed even. A reset of everything worked for a few mins. Could it be a faulty tpot or lamber?

Works great on the Sony phone, I am now waiting for a y-lead so that I can charge it, I'll report on that when it arrives on the boat from China

How much are the ebay Nexus 7s going for? I've found refurbed versions of the 2012 Nexus 7 from Expansys for £60 the 8GB version and £70 for the 16GB version which come with a 90 day warranty. Thinking this may be a better bet than a used item off eBay unless they're v cheap and is 8GB enough to do the job? Thoughts?

I've got hold of an S2 which I was going to try. I'm just unsure how to install it because the Play Store says it's not compatible.
Is it possible to download the APK and install manually?
By the way, OTG appears to work because I am able to connect a mouse to it.

Aide, which Nexus 7 version is this ? 1st Gen 2012 or 2nd Gen 2014. There seems to be quite a lot of confusion about with regards OTG support just like the Galaxy Tab 3. I purchased a tab 3 yesterday (in the post), but a 7" one, not 8 or 10. Turns out the 7 doesn't support OTG by the looks of things...
Hi GregIt's the 2012 version that I tested with:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nexus_7_%282012_versi...
Best wishes
Aide
Could you kindly explain why you think that's Bit wierd?
Sincere regards
Aide
I would like to politely encourage you to read the wiki page again and pay a little more attention to the information.
I really haven’t got the time to spoonfeed you the SAME information over and over again!
Let me summarise with this table:
Device | USB Host Capability | USB OTG capability |
---|---|---|
Nexus 7 (2012) | Yes | No |
Nexus 7 (2013) | Yes | Yes |
The App can only run on an device supports USB Host capabilities:
For the 2012 Nexus 7: you need a USB OTG cable and a serial cable.
For the 2013 Nexus 7: you need a serial cable because it has USB OTG built in.
I HAVE ONLY TESTED THIS ON THE 1ST GENERATION (2012) NEXUS 7!
RS-AJP on a 1st Generation Goolge Nexus 7 (2012)
Apologies for the poor quality video!
Best wishes

Aide, I've installed the app on a samsung galaxy s2. I presume the lower screen resolution is the reason I'm only seeing parts of the layout. I've managed to delete everything that I can see (I am sure there are a few things left off screen) and add a few items.
Could you include a facility to wipe one/all screens in settings ? Not sure if running additional invisible dials in an issue, but if it saves on resources, would be good to clear them.
Other thoughts, have you considered setting alarms, these phones/tablets can make noises, so might be good to have an alarm on certain conditions/thresholds.
Thanks, app looks great, will test in car as soon as my flat battery is fixed !

Thanks for the feedback.
Good news that the app works on the S2
I'll add a Wipe and Reset menu option asap.
You know that if you connect your mouse to your phone via your USB OTG cable it makes it easier to customise your layout?
Once you’re happy with your layout you can save it – and then email it to me so I can incorporate it onto every release
Best wishes
